37.  Local aerodrome regulations

Engine start-up and refuelling at the airport should take place on the tarmac in front of the hangars. Aircraft parking is possible on the grass further away from the hangars, at locations determined by the airport manager.
Szombathely Airport does not have an ATS airspace, but is surrounded by class G airspace, where the call sign of the ATS unit is "West Information".
When leaving the traffic area of Szombathely, aircraft with engines which have not been previously notified must radio in on 119.610 MHz. Pre-coordinated powered flights and aircraft not leaving the active Szombathely contingency airspace and aircraft and aircraft as defined in the SERA rules do not need to check in, subject to SERA rules.
Fixed-wing aircraft may take off and land from the airport only in the following direction ranges: between 140 and 180 degrees and between 320 and 360 degrees.
The coordination of daily operations is organised on a daily basis by the responsible manager or his/her deputies, depending on the weather and the flight operation or operations.
Powered aircraft should normally use the Western traffic circle, unpowered aircraft should normally use the Eastern traffic circle, but this may be deviated from in the daily coordination of the accountable manager or his/her deputy (e.g. changing towing airspace, etc.)
Traffic circles are 1200 ft AMSL for powered fixed wing aircraft. For non-engined aircraft and aircraft subject to and in accordance with the SERA Regulation. Visual reference point not available on traffic circuits, its construction is at the pilot's discretion.
Only aircraft whose commander has received permission from the operator or owners and from the airport technical manager to use the aerodrome may use the aerodrome.
The operator shall endeavour to keep wild animals out, but their presence cannot be excluded.
For more information, see the Airport Rules.

38.  Noise abatement procedures

Noise abatement procedures are not required to reduce noise from ground operations due to the distance from residential areas and the damping effect of natural vegetation between residential areas and the airport. The preferred direction for take-off and landing should be chosen according to the current wind direction, but avoid flying over the settlements of Szombathely, Gencsapáti and Söpte.
