37.  Local aerodrome regulations

Specific rules governing the use of the aerodrome:
At LHKA Aerodrome, various types of flying activities – including SES, UL, powered flight, hot-air ballooning and parachuting – may be carried out either separately or in combination. When carrying out any aviation activity, Hungarian aviation legislation, operational regulations and international treaties must be complied with.
The operator does not provide air traffic control services at LHKA Airport.
During operating hours, the person designated by the operator may, as part of the ‘daily duty’ information exchange, issue announcements regarding weather conditions, air traffic and activities taking place at the airport, including, where necessary, measures to prevent situations that may jeopardise flight safety.
For information: the airport is frequently covered by ad hoc airspace designated for military operations (Military operation) (4,000 feet AMSL – FL245); in the NE–W direction, there is a periodically restricted military training airspace, TRA-22F (4000 FT – 9500 FT ALT); in a north-westerly direction, there is a prohibited airspace LH-P1 (0 FT AGL – 19500 FT FL R3 km); in a north-easterly direction, there is the LHB29 Nature Reserve Area (0 FT AGL – 1500 FT AGL).
For more information, see the Airport Rules.

38.  Noise abatement procedures

In order to protect residential areas and reduce noise, powered and unpowered aircraft are required to establish school circles (small and large) and to make take-offs and landings without affecting residential areas.
Deviations from this (e.g. when flying over a settlement, etc.) are only permitted provided that the rules governing flights over populated areas are strictly adhered to.
It is prohibited to fly over populated areas at an altitude below 300 m AGL!
Pre-flight operations on the ground (engine testing), resulting should be carried out only for the minimum time necessary to reduce noise, immediately before taxiing onto the runway.
Post-flight operations on the ground (engine cool-down) must be carried out only for the minimum time necessary to reduce the resulting noise.
Other operations on the ground (engine maintenance, engine running, testing, etc.) must be carried out only during the day, between 08.00 and 18.00, in order to reduce the resulting noise.
At LHKA Airport, the exposure limit for noise from aircraft operations is LTH = 65 dB during the day (06.00 to 22.00) and LTH = 55 dB at night (22.00 to 06.00), for the L AM, kö rating level. Noise exposure limits in residential areas to be protected from noise to be met.
