GEN 1.4  ENTRY, TRANSIT AND DEPARTURE OF CARGO

1.   Customs requirements concerning cargo and other articles

1.1.  The pilot-in-command of any aircraft engaged in international flight operations when landing at an aerodrome in Hungary shall submit a Manifest (of Cargo and Mail). In the Manifest also the numbers of disembarking passengers and the discharged cargo shall be shown.
1.2.  In the case of non-commercial landing a NIL Manifest also shall be submitted to the Customs Office.

3.1.  Air carriage of living animals, products of animal origin and products being apt to spread animal disease may be carried by air only in possession of a valid official veterinary certificate (preferable issued not earlier than 48 hours in advance) and issued in bilingual form, one of the country of origin and Hungarian.

In case of import (with the exception of living animals keeping for pleasure, not offered for resale) also an import licence of the Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Development is needed which will fix the terms of import, the place of quarantine, etc. The estimated time of arrival shall be notified to the Veterinary Hygiene Office (VHO) of the frontiers station within 48 hours. The veterinary check-up is chargeable on the spot.

In case of defended animals also a “CITES permission” is required, issued by the Ministry of the Environment.

Air carriage of animals shall take place in containers, cages and compartments, which shall be fastened safely.

In order to avoid increasing of extraordinary high or low temperature and extensive fluctuations of the air pressure, appropriate precautions shall be taken and appropriate ventilation is to be provided by taking the spices of animals into consideration.

Tools, are to be provided for occasional emergency slaughter on the board of air carriage aircraft.
